Kindness strikes me as a social act. Certainly one could heuristically prime themselves towards acts of kindness and self validation, however, gratitude, for-me (and Cicero) is the greatest of virtues.
I can appreciate the illogical nature of Gore Vidal's grandchild truth-claim. Mildly true, Sofia sits in a corner with the reality of the logical world bearing down on her wisdom like a metaphor of meaning that has no material significance. Biological non-sense! Genetically the irony runs deep.
