To properly frame this discussion we must acknowledge that Yaron Brook is the acting Executive Director of the Ayn Rand Institute. With such a title comes innate views on capitalism, climate change and, foreign policy. To challenge these views or talk openly and honestly about any flaws in the policies could be viewed as threatening. But should it? We need to find out.

The following is an email that I wrote to Yaron Brook on February 5th, 2017.

Dear Yaron Brook,

This request for an interview was, "sparked" by a video where Yaron Brook spoke about Donald Trump.

Donald Trump is a hot topic and at various points in our day-to-day lives seems to be the only topic throughout media and press.

The outline for this interview, sadly, does NOT involve Donald Trump.

I am a conscientious journalist, and the success of my interview with Yaron will dictate whether or not I release the interview to the public.

Yaron will have the opportunity to endorse the interview should he feel it appropriate and fairly represents his views. Yaron can also express disapproval of the article and will have every opportunity to prevent the interview from being released to the public.

This being said, Yaron Brook holds the title of Executive Director of the Ayn Rand Institute. I want to talk about his views on capitalism, climate change and, foreign policy.

I need to, first of all, state that my journalistic integrity forms the basis of my value system. I strive to serve the public with thoroughness and honesty. I also feel that it's important to state this right out of the gate. It's important to be transparent and not motivated by a hidden agenda. I have no such agenda.

I would like to keep the interview under 20 minutes and I will submit a list of questions prior to the interview, so there are no surprises!

Please let me know if you are interested and I can send you an outline of the interview (ie. a list of questions).
