Really it's that simple

The irony lies in the opposition to reciprocal altruism, which never lowers one's fitness to help another; a dominant species with the capacity to care. How can we refer to ourselves as loving compassionate creatures when the majority prefer to live by the status quo of buying more and spending less? The race to the bottom regardless of how it effects the rest of the community.

Ironic Altruism

A living contradiction of ironic altruism is the redundancy of a best friend on her best behaviour. We domesticated the wolf to the point of abuse and yet they persist, in our presence and constant companionship. We owe them a lifetime of gratitude and friendship in kind.
