In schools, children learn English primarily through speaking and writing. English is the primary language used in instruction in all countries around the world. It’s also the lingua franca, or international language, spoken in many countries. At the same level, English is taught in both primary schools and secondary schools. However, there are different curricula for teaching English to children. In many countries, English is a compulsory subject at school. Children learn it from kindergarten to grade twelve-level. Outside of school, children can also learn English through tutorials or courses.
Most people think that learning speeds for children and adults are equivalent. However, research shows that most people learn at a faster pace than adults. This is due to their natural inquisitiveness and desire to understand concepts. Kids also have a greater tolerance for failure since they’ve yet to acquire as many experience points as adults. This makes them better equipped at an early age to learn new concepts. In addition, children learn faster when they’re motivated; they should focus on enjoying the process and will pick up new material quickly.
Children’s learning style is similar to that of adults; they’re capable of learning with assistance. However, they learn faster and are more successful without adult help. This is because they have the mental capabilities and physical abilities to complete tasks easily. Kids can easily read and write down lessons; they’re also able to listen to lectures and follow written notes on their own. Of course, some kids may find it difficult to learn without adult assistance- particularly if they’re self-motivated but lack motivation or confidence. In these cases, teachers should provide extra help for those students when necessary.
Kids can learn English effectively by listening to their parents speak English at home. They’ll pick up on their parents’ accent, pronunciation, and accents when they speak English at home. This will subconsciously help them develop speech patterns and grammar structures later in life when learning English personally. Additionally, parents should talk to their kids about their experiences with the English language- from reading to videos to songs and text messages. Talking about these experiences naturally teaches kids about the English language and prepares them for life outside of the classroom setting.
